Lime Rock Park The Club

About Us

It's amazing what passion and affection a mile and a half strip of pavement nestled in the woods can generate.

For fans and drivers alike, the Lime Rock track has excited, thrilled, challenged, and sometimes frustrated us over the last Fifty Years. Now it is going to be accessible to 300 lucky people when they want to get the most enjoyment possible out of their cars. The most exciting news of Lime Rock Park's 50th Year is this new Club.

"The first 50 years at Lime Rock Park showcased wonderful drivers and featured significant moments in history. The next 50 years will preserve that legacy and allow Club Members to experience the magic of Lime Rock Park for themselves." Skip Barber

A simply amazing place, Lime Rock Park has brought out truly special people for fifty years. And they brought some interesting cars along the way.

Legendary racers and countless enthusiasts have put their stamp here and added to the lore of Lime Rock Park and, likewise, the magic of the track has brought them back year after year. You can be part of the next fifty years.

From the Cunningham Lister Jaguars of the fifties through the great days of the Trans Am; the dominant Porsche 962's followed by the incredibly fast Nissan and Toyota GT-P cars; into today's American LeMans Series factory backed, high tech Porsches and Audi LMP cars, the greatest sports cars in the world have been pushed to their limits at Lime Rock Park.

Great drivers have of course run here, but there are unique to Lime Rock stories: Indy Champ Roger Ward in a midget beating the world's best sports cars in 1959 in the Formula Libre race (run what you brung-no rules) - probably the most important road race in American history as it was the first to have amateur and professional drivers compete against each other. Roger Penske, the track record holder in 1962, first watched and met Mark Donohue at Lime Rock. Paul Newman, his car number going up every year (its 82 now) competing regularly and winning. Many time champion Tommy Kendall in the Intrepid (the General Motors factory GT-P car), the first really high down force car, braking his ribs on the downhill while running and not deviating from the normal line. Great Formula Atlantic races with Gilles Villeneuve, Danny Sullivan, Keke Rosberg and Bobby Rahal. The all conquering Audi R8 ran its final race at Lime Rock Park last July.
